What To Expect?
As an independent practice we endeavour to give you peace of mind and a service committed to ensuring the best for your eye health and vision. We strive to provide the most thorough eye examinations using the very latest technology and equipment so you, the patient have full confidence in our findings and recommended management.
Your optometrist will first of all gather a detailed history of your eye health and also run through some general questions to get a clear picture of what your eyes goes through on a daily basis, taking into account your lifestyle, hobbies and interests. Our optometrists will also ask about any problems or issues with your sight, including any family ocular history.
Our optometrists will then perform routine investigations, as well as carrying out any specific tests, tailored to your eye care needs. Throughout the consultation all tests carried out will be explained and any results will be discussed, this guarantees you a thorough examination executed smoothly, keeping you as relaxed as possible.
As well as including all tests to check for your sight and to see if any vision correction is required (e.g. spectacles, contact lenses) we also check for any potential eye disease like Glaucoma, Cataract and Macular degeneration to name a few.
Our available equipment includes Optical Coherence Tomography and Optomap Retinal Imaging which allows us to take photographs of the inside of your eyes so even small abnormalities can be detected, recorded and compared in future checks. Combining this with modern examination techniques we can ensure all is done to help prevent unnecessary deterioration to your sight and eye health. Other tests we will carry out include binocular assessment (how well the eyes work together), peripheral visual field analysis if required and intraocular pressure measurement.
We firmly believe in offering our patients the very best experience. We want to ensure you are properly informed of all procedures and treatments and work extremely hard to make sure your time with us is relaxed, informative and thorough. The recommendations given at the end of the eye examination by the optician will take into account factors such as your working environment, lifestyle and any leisure pursuits you have, so we can meet your visual needs in the best possible way.
