How Does Retinal Imaging Work?
As part of our commitment to provide you with the very highest standard of eye care we include Retinal imaging as standard in our comprehensive eye examinations.
Each comprehensive eye examination includes a bespoke package of OCT and/or Optomap scans dependent on age/health, any symptoms etc. all for the same fee. Our optometrists will decide which scans are required to ensure the most thorough eye examination available so our patients dont have to worry about it.
We use state-of-the-art equipment such as the optomap®, OCT swept source technology, slit lamp cameras, computerized test charts, non-contact tonometers and gold standard visual field analysers.
Our highly qualified optometrists will not not only check that your vision is at its best but with the information from the imaging equipment available can also flag up general health conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, as well as eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataract and macular degeneration.
It is for this reason that everyone should have regular eye tests, regardless of whether or not they wear glasses.
